ABOUT DR. KATHERINE RESTUCCIA
Dr. Katherine Restuccia is a clinical psychologist turned wine educator. The origins of her wine studies truly began as a kid tasting wine made by her Italian immigrant grandfather in the basement of their family home. These early experiences ignited her lifelong curiosity and love for wine. As an adult, she began her formal wine studies with the American Sommelier Association in New York City, passing her viticulture and vinification exam as well as the live blind tasting exam. Following this credential, she moved on to study with Wine Spirit Education Trust (WSET) at the International Wine Center in NYC where she passed her Level 3 theory and tasting exam with merit. Her love of the wines of Southern Italy also lead her to complete an in depth study of these wines with the Wine Scholar Guild. Currently, she is a mid-way through her Level 4 Diploma studies with WSET. In addition to formal wine studies, Katherine has lived and studied in Paris and has toured and tasted her way through all the major wine regions of France as well as parts of Italy, Spain and California. As both a psychologist and a wine educator, she finds herself drawn to the unique stories of each winemaker, and the wine’s terroir, and how these stories connect to what is found in every glass of wine.
